Class-10 boy killed for ransom near Meerut

A Class-10 student was abducted and shot dead by the criminals in the jungle of Nanglasahu village of Bhawanpur police station on late Monday night.

He was a resident of village Navipur of Inchauli and was a student of Saraswati Inter College in Parikshatgarh.

He had gone to attend his school on Monday but didn’t return till 5 pm in the evening. When his family called on his phone, a stranger answered the call and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

The abductors had warned the family of consequences if they involved police.

His father Ranveer Singh, a farmer, with a small holding of land approached the Bawanpur Police for assistance.

SSP Manzil Saini launched a search operation in the area with heavy force and raided houses in Nanglasahu village to apprehend the abductors.

Meanwhile, villagers gathered and launched a combing operation of their own after they received information of him being held in Nanglasahu village.

They found him injured in a sugarcane field with bullet wounds in his chest. Villagers immediately rushed him to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Villagers blocked Garh road demanding immediate arrest of the criminals.

SSP Saini said, that police are working on different lines to solve the case and criminals would be nabbed at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Crime Branch of Police has also been involved in the investigation to identify the criminals.

The dead body has been sent for post-mortem to the medical college, sources said.
