Clash between two Nigerian groups in Delhi, 1 dead

A 30-year-old man died in a clash between two Nigerian groups in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Harry of Nigeria, who was living in a rented accommodation in Rajpur Khurd village in Mehrauli.

As per The Indian Express news report, Harry was stabbed near Chattarpur Mandir at about 10.30 pm on Friday night after a scuffle broke out between two Nigerian groups.

According to media reports, after stabbing Harry, all the culprits fled from the scene.

The police were informed by locals. A police team reached the spot and rushed him to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared dead on arrival by the hospital authorities.

As per media reports, the police have launched a probe and are ascertaining the reasons behind the scuffle between the group.

One suspect, a Nigerian, was detained and is being interrogated. Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Romil Baniya said: “We have detained one (Nigerian) suspect, who is being interrogated.”
