Chandigarh College OF Engineering and Technology (Degree Wing) Sector-26 Chandigarh launched its Annual Techno-Cultural Fest ‘APRATIM-2019’ on Monday which will have “Say No To Single Use Plastic” as its main theme.

The fest is proposed to be held on 23 and 24 October. The main theme of Apratim-2019 “Say No To Single Use Plastic” has been chosen to create awareness for avoiding the use of single plastic. Further, the Govt. of India is going to launch a nationwide movement to avoid the use of single use plastic on 2 October.

NSS unit of the Institute is also celebrating the 150th Birthday anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Various events are being organized for the last month as a part of celebration. Volunteers have organized tree plantation drives.

A drive against single use plastic and Swachhta was organized in association with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. Volunteers made posters to create awareness regarding single use plastic. Students also made Rangoli on the themes of “Swachhta”. “Say no to Plastic” and “Save Water”. Volunteers also participated in Swachhta Quiz. Dr MS Gujral, Principal CCET (Degree Wing). Dr Rajesh Kumar Prof. Incharge (Student Welfare Cell). Dr Radhey Sham, president Student Council, and Dr Gulshan Goyal, NSS Program Officer cum Secretary Student Council appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers and motivated them.
