CBI arrests two for alleged bribery of Rs.25,000 in Himachal

The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), Shimla, has arrested two officers of the MSME Development Institute, Chambaghat, Solan district, in an alleged bribery of Rs.25,000.

The CBI had registered a case on February 27, following a complaint alleging that the accused Assistant director (Electricals) and Investigator/Inspector (Glass and ceramics), working in the office of Director, MSME Development Institute, Chambaghat demanded a bribe of Rs.35,000.

The complainant was allegedly demanded bribe for showing favour of issuance of amendment of additional products in the certificate issued to his firm.

The CBI on Wednesday laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant. Searches are being conducted at the official and residential premises of both the accused persons.
