BSF jawan produced in court in connection with girl trafficking

Police on Monday produced a BSF constable Suresh Kumar in court after arresting him from West Bengal on 25 January in connection with a case of trafficking and sexually exploiting a girl of Malkangiri district. According to police officers, in 2012, the accused Suresh Kumar was stationed at MV 79 and Kalimela police station areas as was the 43 BN BSF.

He came in contact with a woman of Chitrakonda and in the year 2013 took her to Sonepat, Haryana, and kept her in a rented house. The accused kept physical relation with her as a result of which the victim lady delivered a girl child in the year 2014. After the birth of the child, the accused Suresh Kumar discontinued contact with the victim and did not attend her.

The victim stayed at Sonepat, Haryana for 6 months and waited for Suresh Kumar. Finally she returned to her parental house at Chitrakonda. As the accused did not come to take her back, the victim lady reported the matter at Chitrakonda police on 27 February 2017. During investigation, it was ascertained the accused trafficked the victim to Sone – pat, Haryana, for the purpose of sexual exploitation of the victim and cohabited with her after deceitfully inducing a false belief of marriage.

After ascertaining the present place of posting of the accused Suresh Kumar, a four member Police team was sent to Murshidabad (WB) to arrest the accused. The Police team arrested the accused Suresh Kumar from 43 BN BSF Rosan Bagh, Murshidabad (WB) on 25 January produced him before the court of ACJM, Lalbag, Murshidabad and has brought him to Malkangiri. It was ascertained that accused Suresh Kumar is a resident of Sonepat, Haryana and was married since 2006.
