Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday said the party is not looking for any alliances in Odisha and will fight the 2019 assembly polls alone.

“BJP will fight next elections in Odisha alone… we will have no alliance,” Shah said at press conference in state capital Bhubaneswar.

He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had allocated Rs.1 lakh 32 thousand crore rupees to the state and no other prime minister had done so much for the development of Odisha.

“The steps taken by Modi government in the last three years for the betterment of Odisha are unprecedented,” he said.

Shah is on a three-day visit to Odisha to galvanise party workers and leaders for its goal to win 120 of 147 seats in the 2019 Assembly poll.

The BJP, which has just 10 MLAs in the current Assembly, has been in an upbeat mood since its impressive performance in the last rural polls in the state earlier this year.
