The Delhi BJP Kisan & OBC Morchas on Monday held a Panchayat at Rajghat on the problems of the farmers and other residents of Delhi’s rural areas in which representatives of about 80 villages of North, East, West and South Delhi participated.
The Pradhan of 360 village panchayats of Delhi, Chaudhary Ram Karan, presented a censure motion against the Delhi Government for neglecting the rural areas of Delhi and it was passed after a brief discussion.
BJP general secretary Rajesh Bhatia said, “The reality is that only the former BJP Chief Minister the late Sahib Singh Verma framed schemes for the development of rural areas. After 1998 till date the ruling parties of Delhi have only added the number of unauthorised colonies in the rural areas.”

Other party leaders registered their displeasure with the Arvind Kejriwal government and its predecessor Congress government and said, “There are neither good schools for the children nor colleges for the youth or hospitals for the people suffering from various diseases.
Public transport is insufficient and the expansion of Metro has not been taken up. The farmers are compelled to continue their farming in spite of the fact that there are no facilities for them. During 2015 & 2016, the farmers had suffered crop losses but were not paid compensation by Kejriwal Government.
Their power connections for the tube wells are charged at commercial rates and there is no drinking water supply for the villagers.”
