With Haryana Chief Minister’s (CM) Flying Squad busting a job-for-cash racket in Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday (BJP) said it was part of CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s crusade against corruption even as the Congress demanded a high level inquiry to unmask those behind the scam.

In a Press statement, BJP’s media cell chief Rajiv Jain said in the past whenever there used to be allegations of corruption in recruitment for government jobs, chief ministers used to suppress such cases whereas, the CM has shown the courage to break a big syndicate involved in this job-for-cash racket.

Jain said from the investigation by the police, it’s clear that not a single competitive examination question paper has been leaked.

The Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, however, alleged CM’s ‘fake’ claim of providing jobs in an honest and transparent basis stands shattered in view of biggest ever ‘jobs on sale’ scam since the inception of state of Haryana.

“Such naked jobs for sale scam cannot happen without the political patronage of Khattar government which is shielding the real scamsters by taking action against some petty employees and agents, who are a small cog in this web of corruption. Responsibility and accountability for this entire scam lies at the doorsteps of CM as also chairman and members of the HSSC,” he said.

Surjewala also questioned the three year extension given to chairman, HSSC, Bharat Bhushan Bharti despite an audio tape was released recently in which it was alleged that chairman was having a conversation regarding demand of Rs 80 Lakh for appointment of president of Municipal Council, Pehowa.

“The CM should clarify his position about this and the chairman, as well as members of HSSC, should resign. We demand an inquiry by two sitting judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to unmask the big fish behind this job-for-cash racket,” said the Congress leader who represents Kaithal constituency in Haryana Assembly.

The BJP leader, Jain, however said during the Congress regime, there used to be officers deputed in the CM residence for making lists for giving government jobs to non-deserving candidates on the basis of recommendations made by ministers, legislators and ruling party leaders.

“The BJP government has broken this system and put in place a seven-step transparent system for selection to the government jobs,” he said adding that under the Congress rule people were forced to sell their land and jewellery for getting a government job.

Ruling out any corruption in selection of candidates by the HSSC, Jain said CM has shown unprecedented courage to break this system.
