Tata Steel BSL organised a special Blood Donation Camp in association with Blood Bank, Dhenkanal district and Sambad Ama Odisha at its plant at Narendrapur in Dhenkanal.

Despite the scorching heat of summer, employees and their family members voluntarily lined up to donate blood during the whole day. A total of 263 units of blood were collected through the programme to support the requirement of the blood bank.

Dr Niranjan Mishra, Chief District Medical Officer, Dhenkanal formally inaugurated the camp in the presence of Dr Sankalp Keshari Bhoi, additional district medical officer, Dhenkanal, Mr Biranchi Narayan Pani, vice chairman, Dhenkanal district Red Cross and president of Dhenkanal District Blood Donor’s Association, Mr A K Saxena, executive director, Tata Steel BSL, Mr Manikanata Naik, chief corporate services, Tata Steel BSL, Mr R K Sinha, chief safety, Tata Steel BSL and Dr Prashant S Patra, DGM, Occupational Health Centre, Tata Steel BSL and others.

Employees, contract workers, their family members had participated enthusiastically in the camp and donated blood.

A report from Angul said Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) in association with the Odisha Blood Bank, Angul organised a voluntary blood donation camp at its plant premises in Angul.

JSPL’s officers and workers came forward to donate their blood generously. Total 43 units of blood were collected in the camp.

“Volunteer blood donors are the silent supporters of humanity and I really appreciate them for their generous attitude. JSPL always encourages such kind of social activities and volunteer blood donation is a part of corporate culture at JSPL, said the chief operating officer of JSPL Mr Pankaj Gautam.

JSPL also organises two more volunteer blood donation camps at its premises every year to contribute to the blood requirement of Angul District Blood bank. So far JSPL has provided more than 1000 blood units by organising such camps at regular intervals.
