The Karanjia police started investigating a case of a video clip showing a girl and her boyfriend being forcibly tonsured by local youths. The video of the act went viral prompting the police to take note of it.
Sources said the incident took place in Mandua village where the girl was living. She was sick and the boy used to frequent her house. The village youth took exception to this.
On Friday night when the youth was going to her house at Mandhu, some local youths caught hold of both, dragged them out and tonsured them in public.

On being informed Karanjia police on Sunday morning rushed to the village and rescued the two victims
The girl lodged an FIR against the youths in the police station, those who had misbehaved with them in a public place in that night.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Karanjia Narayan Nayak said for the following complaint of the woman, a case was registered and cops launched an inquiry into the matter.
