Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj launched a fresh attack on the Delhi government for manipulating Delhi’s air pollution data.
The senior AAP leader took to X, allegedly exposing data tampering attempts of the saffron party at the Jahangirpuri AQI station. Bharadwaj shared a video on social media showing government workers spraying water directly around the monitoring site to artificially lower readings.
“The BJP government’s fraud to underreport pollution levels continues unabated — their lies stand exposed yet again,” he alleged.
Alleging that the BJP government is hiding the real pollution figures of Delhi, Bhardwaj said, “Water is being sprinkled around monitoring stations so that there is no dust or pollution nearby, and the AQI machine records a lower reading,” putting the lives of its residents in jeopardy, he added.
The opposition leader accused the ruling party of engaging in fake and fraudulent optics, with no real work. He said, “This is the same BJP government that created a fake Yamuna for photo-ops, announced artificial rain from airplanes that never happened, and continues to fool people with propaganda instead of action.”
Meanwhile, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Friday lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of spreading misinformation over air quality data and the city’s ongoing anti-pollution efforts. Dismissing the opposition’s claims of data fraud, Gupta said pollution data cannot be manipulated and advised AAP leaders to “stick to singing songs”. She further added that the data cannot be tampered with or hidden.
