Six children went missing from their Regent Park houses on Sunday night. While one of them returned home this morning, others are reported to have boarded a train. Around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday, six children ~ Prince Shaw, Debraj Ghosh, Rajdeep Jana, Avijit Sarkar, Arpita Sarkar and Priya Karmakar ~ were found missing from their Purba Putiary residences.

Their family members filed missing diaries last night at Regent Park police station. They are aged between 8 years and 17 years. Among them, Prince left his home for his grandmot – her’s house in Bihar, police said. Around 9.45 a.m. today, Rajdeep returned to his home. According to police, his statements are in the process of being verified but so far it can be confirmed that the teenagers had left on their own and got on a train for an undisclosed destination.

A senior police officer said: “It appears that the children had problems at school and with their parents which spurned them to leave their homes. “We do not feel comfortable sharing more details at this point as we do not want them to get affected by the increased attention.
