BBMB gets national level prize

The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has been awarded 1st prize at national level for “best state level nodal officer category” for achieving highest percentage of student participation in painting competition on energy conservation by school children of Haryana for the year 2017.

The award was presented on the National Energy Conservation Day ( 14 December) by Union minister of state (Independent Charge) for power, new and nenewable energy, RK Singh to Balvir Singh Sinhmar, director, human resource development, BBMB and nodal officer at a function held at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi.

The BBMB has been organising state level painting competition on energy conservation for the states of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for school children on behalf of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Union Ministry of Power since 2005 every year. An official spokesperson said for 2017, BBMB has been able to manage a phenomenal increase of 406.1 per cent in participation of students from various schools of Haryana. Nearly 10,78,191 students from 14436 schools in Haryana had participated in the competition. This increase has been the highest at all India level, he added.
