Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday imparted life lessons to students on fitness as he participated in the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ event.

“Bicycle pedals teach us the greatest lesson of life that we move forward only when we maintain balance. This balance is the foundation of life, and it comes from fitness,” he said.

Mandaviya urged citizens to dedicate an hour to physical activity to take the country forward on the path of ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The minister noted that over 1,000 participants, including educators from across Delhi, joined in alongside athletes, fitness influencers, and youth for the 43rd edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in the national capital.

Commemorating World Teachers’ Day, the event featured a street play dedicated to teachers.

Organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), Yogasana Bharat, and MY Bharat, the cycling event also hosts yoga sessions, skipping, fitness games, and participation zones for children to encourage participation.

Sunday’s event saw participation from Olympic medallist Abhishek Nain, member of the Indian hockey team, chess icon Tania Sachdev, Javelin player Sachin Yadav, and Rohtash Chaudhary, brand ambassador of the Fit India Movement.

Applauding the wellness campaign, Nain said, “As athletes, fitness is our foundation. What I see here is not just people cycling, but India embracing a culture of health.”
