An awareness program was organized today at the Ayurveda Bhawan (Phase 1) of Patanjali Bhartiya Sansthan of Medical Sciences and Research, Haridwar, as part of the Anti-Ragging Awareness Campaign and the 36th National Road Safety Month.
The primary objective was to develop legal consciousness, discipline, and a sense of responsibility among students. In this context, a traffic awareness and legal literacy program was organised as part of the 36th National Road Safety Month (January 16 to February 14, 2026). This program was jointly organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Haridwar, the Traffic Police, Haridwar, and the Indian Awareness Committee.
At the program, Simran Jeet Kaur, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, provided information about free legal aid, civil rights, and the services available through the Legal Services Authority, and encouraged students and citizens to seek legal assistance when needed.
T.S. Inspector Mohit Singh Rathore and Transport Tax Officer Ravindra Pal Saini highlighted the practical aspects of traffic rules, the penal provisions, and the necessary measures for safe driving. During the program, speakers provided detailed information on road safety and legal awareness, including the necessity of following road safety rules, the importance of using helmets and seat belts, the consequences and penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol, prevention of accidents caused by overspeeding and careless driving, and the legal provisions applicable to traffic rule violations.
At the program, High Court Advocate Lalit Miglani informed the students about anti-ragging, stating that any form of harassment, mental/physical pressure, or inappropriate behavior is illegal and punishable. He urged students to be vigilant and responsible in maintaining a ragging-free, safe, and dignified educational environment. Furthermore, the Traffic Police Department emphasized collective participation and civic responsibility to prevent road accidents.
At the end of the program, all participants took a collective pledge to follow road safety rules and maintain a ragging-free campus.
On behalf of the institute, Dr. Anil Kumar (Principal) and Dr. Girish K. J. (Vice Principal) along with Dr. S. C. Joshi (Chairman, Anti-Ragging Cell), Dr. Narendra Kumar and Dr. Manoj Kumar Bhati (Convener) along with teachers, doctors and students were present at the programme.
