Delhi Environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Monday said that the government is making continuous efforts to address the issue, which he alleged was a legacy left by the previous government.
The minister accused the previous AAP regime of ruining the situation and not doing anything substantial to address the issue of pollution.
Sirsa claimed that the air quality this year is better as compared to the previous years, adding that the present government has been installing new smog guns across the high rise building in the national capital, the polluting buses have been replaced by new E- buses, while many other preventive measures are being taken to address the air quality problem.
On the other hand, Sirsa accused the AAP of being involved in covering up their shortcomings with false propaganda and politics.
SIrsa has also said that the present dispensation is steadily removing the garbage mountains, and doing several other things to resolve many issues, adding that things that have been spoiled for over ten years, will take some time to be fixed, but efforts are underway in a big way to make things better.
He also accused AAP of raising questions at the air monitoring station now, which had been installed by them in the past, stating that the present government moved it in the forest area.
Sirsa had also hit- out at the previous regime of spending Rs 100 crore on the odd- even scheme, but doing nothing concrete for controlling pollution.
According to the Minister, even the Court had mentioned that the previous government did not give fund to the Delhi Pollution Committee for pollution control.
He assured that the present government led by CM Rekha Gupta will undertake all possible efforts towards resolving the pollution issue.
