With its old ally in Haryana, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) entering into an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Thursday announced to contest the Parliamentary polls in the state on its own.

The party would sound poll bugle for the Parliamentary polls by holding its first election rally on August 19 at Pipli (Kurukshetra).

In a statement, the SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the party has started bracing up for the forthcoming parliamentary polls in Haryana.

“The party would sound the poll bugle for Lok Sabha elections with its first election rally at Pipli on August 19. It was decided in a meeting held with the district party observers from Haryana” he added.

The SAD is having an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, but the party had contested 2014 Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Haryana in alliance with the INLD while the BJP contested the same on its own.
