At least eight schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning, triggering panic and security checks across the city, police said.
The emails were received around 10 am. The messages claimed explosives had been planted on school premises.
After receiving the emails, the school authorities informed the police control room. Police teams were immediately rushed to the locations.
The schools that received the emails include Nirman School in Vastrapur, Zydus School in Vejalpur, Aavishkar School in Kalol, DAV International School in Makarba, Zebar School in Thaltej, Maharaja Agrasen School on Gurukul Road, CBSE-affiliated Divine Child School in Adalaj, and James & Jamieson School in the Khoraj-Khodiyar area.

Teams from local police stations, the Crime Branch, Special Operation Group (SOG), Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS), fire brigade, and dog squads were deployed at the schools.
As a precaution, students and staff were evacuated and moved to safe places. School buildings were sealed while searches were carried out inside the premises and nearby areas.
The incident caused anxiety among parents. Many rushed to the school premises after messages spread on social media. Police personnel were deployed outside schools to manage the situation.
Confirming the development, the Vejalpur Police Inspector said multiple schools had received bomb threat emails. “All standard operating procedures are being followed. Nothing suspicious has been found so far, but searches are ongoing,” the officer said.
Police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the emails. Officials said similar threats have been received in the past, but every alert is treated as real until checks are completed.
