The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday hit out at the BJP and the central government over the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searches at the residence of AAP’s Delhi unit chief, Saurabh Bharadwaj. Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders termed the case “fake” and accused the ruling dispensation of misusing probe agencies.
AAP leaders alleged that the ED’s action against Bharadwaj was based on a fabricated case, calling it yet another example of political vendetta.
In a post on X, Kejriwal said, “The ED raid at Saurabh Bharadwaj’s house is another case of the Modi government misusing agencies. The way AAP is being targeted has never happened to any political party in history.”
He further asserted that AAP was being singled out because it is the “most vocal voice against the Modi government’s wrong policies and corrupt deeds,” adding that the party would continue to raise its voice fearlessly.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that the case in question pertained to 24 hospital construction projects in 2018–19, a period when Bharadwaj was not even a minister.
Sisodia further alleged that many cases against AAP leaders had been exposed in courts as false, citing the example of Satyendar Jain. In another post on X, he said, “The case cited dates back to a time when Saurabh was not a minister. This clearly proves that just like their degrees are fake, so are these cases.”
