The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP government of orchestrating a major pollution data fraud in Delhi. AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj released a video from the ISBT Pollution Monitoring Station, showing MCD tankers allegedly spraying water continuously around air quality sensors to artificially lower AQI readings. Bharadwaj termed it “data management, not pollution control.”
Taking to X, Bharadwaj wrote: “BJP Government – Pollution Data Fraud. Water is being sprayed day and night at the Delhi pollution monitoring station to reduce pollution and AQI readings. These are the same people who claim there is no dishonesty in EVMs. When they indulge in dishonesty everywhere, what can be expected from them?”
Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also shared the video on X, hitting out at the BJP. He wrote, “Pollute the air, dilute the data — hide the truth with water and mask the lie with makeup. This is the BJP’s pollution control model.”
Bharadwaj further alleged that BJP-ruled MCD trucks were deliberately circling the Delhi government’s pollution monitoring station to bring down pollution readings. “These trucks are moving around the station and continuously spraying water to make the pollution data appear lower than it actually is,” he said.
The AAP Delhi unit chief added that such large-scale deception has become the BJP’s governance model. “Those committing this massive fraud are the same BJP members who now hold positions in Delhi’s government, the MCD, and the central government. They have no interest in reducing pollution; their only aim is to manipulate the data,” he alleged.
