Paradip Port becomes country’s largest cargo handling port
The port nudged past Deendayal Port, Kandla to achieve the new record, said the officials on Monday.
Apprehensions of the Atharbanki- Nehrubanglow road stretch sinking created panic here prompting the Paradip Port authorities to close the road following a huge crater created nearby due to digging undertaken for construction of a wagon tippler.
A 60feet deep caving into the earth during the work undertaken by L&T caused panic with people fearing that it will affect the road which is close by.
Sources said that construction agency L & T Private Limited has been pressed into service for construction of wagon tippler for unloading of coal in mechanised way of JSW steel company.

Chairman of Paradip Port Trust Mr Rinkesh Ray rushed to the spot and interacted with the officials and engineers of said construction agencies to ascertain the situation immediately.
The road stretch has been sealed as a measure of abundant precaution.
