233 fake cos booked for duping on pretext of sending abroad

As many as 233 fake companies have been booked in over the past three years (2015 to 28 Feb, 2018) in Haryana for cheating people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

As per the official information, a total 233 cases were registered in the state against the fake companies for cheating people in the name of sending them abroad, against which 176 accused were arrested for the said charges while challan were filed in 107 cases as 55 cases were cancelled whereas, 12 cases remained untraced.

Maximum, of such cases registered during last year with registration of 75 cases for the said frauds in 2017, followed by 74 in 2015, 72 in 2016 while registration of 12 such cases were reported this year till 28 February.

Maximum of duping on pretext of sending abroad was reported in districts Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Kaithal and Panchkula from 2015 to February, 2018 with 76 cases were registered in Ambala during this period, followed by Kurukshetra with 65, Yamunanagar 44, Kaithal 29 and Panchkula 12.

However, an embracement for the investigative agencies in Haryana, only two convictions took place out these registered cases while 13 acquittal pronounced by the concerned courts in 13 cases.

A senior official from the state government said, “Whenever a complaint or any information relating to cheating on the pretext of sending persons abroad is received, immediate action as per the law is initiated.”

He said that instruction had been issued to filed units to closely monitor the activities of such fraudulent companies and take strict legal action against them.

A special 15-day campaign was also launched from 16 December to 31 December, last year, to check telecast of advertisements by such companies for attracting the people especially, youths for sending them abroad. Such vigil would continue in future also, the official added.
