A widespread transfer-posting has been carried out in the Delhi Police, following the conclusion of Diwali and just before the Chhath Mahaparv.

Several officers have been reassigned. The officers included in the transfer-posting list have been given new responsibilities. The order for the reshuffle in Delhi Police was issued by the Lieutenant Governor. In total, the names of 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers are included in the transfer-posting list.

The issued order states that this decision was made by the Police Establishment Board. According to the list, the Delhi Police Special Cell has a new chief. Anil Shukla will now be the Special CP of the Special Cell.

The Delhi Police’s Special Cell is considered an expert in handling matters related to state and national security. Additionally, Neeraj Thakur has been appointed as the Special CP of the Traffic Division.

Prior to this, in March, several officers were also transferred in the Delhi Police. Delhi’s LG Vinai Saxena had ordered the transfer/posting of 28 officers of the IPS/DANIPS cadre based on the recommendation of the Police Establishment Board. The order was effective immediately.

The officers who were transferred included names like IPS B Shankar Jaiswal (2001 batch), IPS Paramaditya, Vikramjeet Singh, Pushpendra Kumar, Nupur Prasad, as well as IAS Sharat Kumar Sinha (2008 batch).

It is noted that IPS officers are transferred from time to time in Delhi, with decisions taken by the governance and administration whenever deemed necessary.
