Two injured were rushed to Uttarkashi district hospital. The condition of the injured is stated to be serious and efforts are on to move them to Dehradun for advanced medical care.
The incident happened at Sanglia-Bhukki point of the national highway. The villagers, who hail from Bhankoli, were on their way back from Gangotri on Monday afternoon.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed his condolences to the family of those killed in the accident.
The CM took stock of the situation at the accident site from MLA Gopal Rawat over telephone. He instructed the MLA to remain in touch with the officials and ensure speedy rescue and relief work.
Rawat has also instructed officials to ensure proper treatment of those injured in the incident and to provide immediate financial assistance to the dependents of the deceased.
