109 families get compassionate appointments in NDMC, contractual employees medical cards

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed appointment letters and medical cards among the employees of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Friday on compassionate grounds.
Appreciating the council’s initiatives and efforts, Gupta said these continuous initiatives have given 109 families new hope through compassionate appointments.

Addressing a gathering, Gupta said that the NDMC is not merely an institution but a family, where public representatives, officers, and employees work together to serve those who serve the nation.

She noted that the area falling under the NDMC is center of country’s administrative and democratic framework, and the employees working here play a vital role in enhancing the image of the national capital.

Gupta remarked that these appointments are not just jobs, but lifelong support systems that provide stability and security to the future of these families.
The CM expressed special happiness that among those who received the appointment letters nearly 90 women. She said she was confident that the selected candidates would work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the resolve of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi.”
She described the medical health cards for the contractual employees under LMHS scheme as a major relief.

The chief minister further said that medical expenses often become a significant financial burden on families, and therefore, the cashless medical facility would act as a protective shield for employees and their families.
According to her, the objective of the present government is to ensure that no employee, officer, or common citizen faces injustice, and that everyone receives all essential facilities with dignity and respect.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma stated that both initiatives undertaken by NDMC to provide appointment letters to the dependents of deceased employees and extending medical card facilities to contractual employees are significant steps towards social welfare.
He said these measures have brought smiles of happiness to the faces of the dependents of the deceased families and also they have given a sense of reassurance to contractual employees.

Verma recalled NDMC’s initiative taken a few years ago to regularise 4,400 temporary employees, adding that such steps are not being undertaken with the intention of gaining votes, but rather to fulfil the government’s responsibility towards the people and society.
