10 pc quota for sports persons in Group D posts: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister (CM), Manohar Lal Khattar, on Thursday, announced that outstanding sportspersons of the state would be provided ten per cent horizontal reservation in recruitment to Group D posts.

The CM made this announcement while speaking on the concluding day of the budget session of Haryana Assembly on Thursday.

He said that the state government has made a provision as per which preference for the place of posting would be sought from the candidates prior to the declaration of final result so that they could join within 24 to 48 hours of the result.

Earlier, it took months for the candidates to join their respective place of postings. He said that the Staff Selection Commission has declared the result of 6,134 candidates for the post of clerk yesterday and they are being informed about their place of posting through e-mail and SMS.

The Commission has also declared the result for 380 posts of Multi Purpose Health Workers on March 8, 2018. The CM said that there is an atmosphere of joy in the state after declaration of results as the selection of candidates has been made purely on the basis of merit without any recommendations.

While giving comparative figures of recruitment made during the previous governments and in the present state government, he said that in the tenure of five years from 1999 to 2004, 11,800 candidates were recruited, whereas from 2004 to 2009, 20,030 candidates were recruited in different government Departments, Boards and Corporations.

He said that 50,000 posts have been advertised by the present State government, out of which selection on 24,016 posts have already been made, whereas 12,000 to 14,000 posts are under the litigation process due to one or other reasons.

While asserting that the state government has adopted a transparent recruitment process, the CM said that jobs are being provided on merit basis in the state.
