Uttar Pradesh has secured investment proposals worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore during the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23, 2026, marking a major milestone in the state’s global investment outreach.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday after returning from Davos, State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the achievement has firmly positioned Uttar Pradesh as a leading investment destination on the global map.
He said a high-level state delegation held 119 meetings with representatives of 55–56 major global companies during the summit. These engagements resulted in the signing of 31 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across key sectors, including data centres, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, manufacturing, defence, logistics, tourism, food processing, electric vehicles (EVs), pharmaceuticals, healthcare and artificial intelligence. The total proposed investment under these MoUs exceeds ₹2.92 lakh crore.
Highlighting the largest proposal, Khanna said a MoU was signed with Dutch firm AM Green for setting up a 1 GW AI-based data centre in Greater Noida, involving an investment of around ₹2.10 lakh crore by 2028. The project is expected to catalyse a major digital and technological transformation in the state and generate substantial employment through allied industries.
A separate MoU worth ₹200 crore was signed with ASR Technology, while ride-hailing major Uber expressed interest in expanding its mobility partnership in the state and exploring the possibility of establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC).
UP New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) Director Indrajit Singh said significant MoUs were signed in the renewable energy sector, including ₹1,000 crore for solar rooftop and battery energy storage projects, ₹1,100 crore for hybrid electric vehicle manufacturing plants, ₹10,500 crore for solar power projects and solar module manufacturing, and ₹3,800 crore for a green manufacturing park comprising 3 GW solar cell module capacity and a 60 MW solar plant.
He added that a non-financial MoU was signed with NTPC Green Energy for cooperation in renewable energy and green hydrogen, while REC Limited proposed an investment of ₹8,000 crore for a 500 MW agricultural waste-to-energy project.
The Finance Minister said Rashmi Metallics has committed ₹4,000 crore to set up a 1 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant in the state. He added that detailed discussions were also held with companies such as AB InBev, Godrej, Philip Morris International and Schneider Electric on smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and supply chain development.
Collaboration opportunities were explored with DuPont, Ramco Group and Schneider Electric in areas such as water management, irrigation, sewage and waste management, microgrids and smart buildings. DuPont proposed pilot projects in Jhansi, Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi, with indicative solar system costs of around ₹50,000–₹60,000 per unit.
Extensive discussions were also held with global technology companies including Google, Uber, ASR Technology, Tech Mahindra, Cisco, Deloitte, Google Cloud, AutoNation Energy and SS Technology on GCCs, artificial intelligence, data centres, digital governance, skill development and mobility solutions.
In the healthcare and life sciences space, Bayer Consumer Health and Agilent Technologies explored investment opportunities in agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, research and development and life sciences. Bayer Consumer Health also indicated plans for expansion in the state’s industrial hubs.
Khanna said all MoUs signed at Davos will be closely monitored, and a dedicated single-window team will be constituted to ensure time-bound approvals and smooth implementation of the 31 investment proposals.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is moving rapidly towards realising the vision of a Developed India by 2047, he added.
