Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary in Bhutan, named Tata Consultancy Services BT, according to a regulatory filing with the stock exchange.
“We wish to inform you that Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has incorporated ‘Tata Consultancy Services BT Private Limited’ a wholly-owned subsidiary in Bhutan on December 16, 2025,” the company stated in a filing made to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
According to the filing, “The new TCS unit will support the growing demand for digital transformation in Bhutan and foster local talent by offering employment and training, enhancing the nation’s human capital growth.”
The filing mentioned that no governmental or regulatory approvals were required to incorporate the Bhutan unit.
The incorporation involved an initial capital subscription in cash, with TCS investing 90 million Ngultrum (Bhutanese currency). The listed entity will hold 100% shareholding in the Bhutan-based subsidiary, giving it full control over operations.
According to the regulatory filing by TCS, the primary objective behind the move to establish its operations in Bhutan is to expand TCS’s business in Southeast Asia, foster technological innovation, and provide high-quality IT solutions.
The Bhutanese unit, Tata Consultancy Services BT, will operate as a step-down subsidiary of TCS.

TCS also collaborates with the Royal Government of Bhutan on broader digital transformation and governance goals, with recent high-level meetings focusing on technology, HR development, and innovation for national development.
