Keeping Thursday&’s gains, Indian equity markets started Friday&’s trading session on a flat note.
At 9.45 am, the Sensex at the Bombay Stocks Exchange (BSE) was trading two points higher at 28,775 while the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading one point down at 8,867.
However, broader markets witnessed continued buying trend, BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices jumped around 0.5 per cent each.
On Thursday, the Sensex had closed 266 points up at 28,773 and the Nifty had closed 90 points higher at 8,867.
Among the BSE sectoral indices, Realty index registered the biggest gains with a jump of 0.8 per cent while Bankex index became the top loser with a tumble of 0.5 per cent.
Top gainers in the Sensex-30 pack: Reliance Industries (up 0.9 per cent), TCS (up 0.8 per cent), L&T (up 0.8 per cent), M&M (up 0.7 per cent) and Gail (up 0.6 per cent).
Top losers in the Sensex-30 pack: Axis Bank (down 2.7 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1 per cent), Lupin (down 0.8 per cent), Infosys (down 0.8 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.7 per cent).
Meanwhile, the Rupee was trading two paise down at 66.68 against the US Dollar.
