Sensex gains 137 pts, metal stocks shine

Supported by positive global markets, domestic bourses were trading with gains in the second hour of trade on Tuesday. 
At 10.50 am, the Sensex at the BSE was trading 137 points higher at 25,902 while the Nifty at the NSE was trading 48 points up at 7,977.
In the broader markets, BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices jumped 0.5 per cent and 0.3 per cent respectively. 
Among the BSE sectoral indices, Metal index jumped the most, up 2 per cent, while Power index became the lead loser, down 0.8 per cent. 
On Monday, the Sensex had closed 385 points down at 25,765 and the Nifty had ended 154 points lower at 7,929.
Top gainers in the Sensex-30 pack: Adani Ports (up 2.6 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 2.4 per cent), Cipla (up 2.3 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.8 per cent) and HUL (up 1.6 per cent).
Top losers in the Sensex-30 pack: L&T (down 2 per cent), NTPC (down 1.6 per cent), Gail (down 1.4 per cent), Dr Reddy’s Labs (down 1 per cent) and Power Grid (down 0.9 per cent).
Meanwhile, the Rupee was trading six points down at 68.22 against the US Dollar.
