The Uttar Pradesh government is moving swiftly to make the state a leading textile and apparel hub in the country.
In this direction, construction of the 1,000-acre PM MITRA Textile and Apparel Park being developed on the Lucknow–Hardoi border is progressing at a rapid pace.
The state government is ensuring continuous monitoring and coordination to complete this ambitious project in a time-bound manner with world-class facilities.
According to officials here on Tuesday, the government is ensuring the smooth availability of basic infrastructure such as roads, water and electricity within the park. Strengthening road connectivity to the PM MITRA Park is being carried out in two phases.
In the first phase, widening and strengthening of an 8.40-km road from IIM Lucknow to the Raytha Underpass (Outer Ring Road) has been proposed, of which 6.2 km has already been completed.
The total cost of this phase is ₹409.39 crore, out of which ₹206.95 crore has been allocated. In the second phase, construction of a 14.28-km road from the Raytha Underpass to the PM MITRA Park has been proposed, and the land acquisition process for this stretch is currently underway.
Within the PM MITRA Textile Park, 73 per cent of the boundary wall work, 55 per cent of the office space renovation, and 20 per cent of the gate complex construction have been completed.
Meanwhile, the Letter of Intent (LoI) has been issued for the construction of a 132-kV receiving substation and a 26-km transmission line within the park.
Significant initiatives are also being undertaken in the field of water management. A Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) is being constructed within the PM MITRA Park using treated water from the Daulatganj STP (8+8 MLD).
In addition, Jal Nigam (Rural) is ensuring the supply of 8.25 MLD of water from the Gomti river. For this purpose, a sanctioned amount of ₹458.50 crore has been provided.
The Uttar Pradesh government has directed that work related to the boundary wall, gate complex and renovation of the office building under the PM MITRA Park project must be completed by January 31, 2026, under all circumstances.
The project is expected to significantly boost employment generation in the state and give Uttar Pradesh a strong identity on the global textile investment map.
