Snapping four-day winning streak, Indian equity markets closed Thursday’s volatile trading session with marginal declines. 
The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed 93 points down at 26,560 and the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended 32 points lower at 8,193.
In the broader markets, BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices slumped 1.2 per cent and 0.6 per cent respectively.
Among the BSE sectoral indices, Metal index closed with the biggest cut, down 1.7 per cent, while Healthcare index ended with the biggest gain, up 2.5 per cent. 
On Wednesday, the Sensex had closed 259 points up at 26,653 and the Nifty had ended 82 points higher at 8,225. 
Top gainers in the Sensex-30 pack: Gail (up 2.9 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 1.6 per cent), Hero Motocorp (up 1.5 per cent), Dr Reddy’s Labs (up 1.3 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 1.1 per cent).
Top losers in the Sensex-30 pack: Power Grid (down 4 per cent), Asian Paints (down 3.1 per cent), Tata Motors (down 2.4 per cent), M&M (down 2.2 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 2.1 per cent).
However, the Rupee was trading two paise higher at 68.36 against the US Dollar.
