KOLKATA, 17 JUNE: Domestic carrier Jet Airways today announced that it has entered into codeshare agreements with European carriers Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to enhance connectivity between India and Europe.
Jet Air has already started selling tickets from today under the new arrangement to passengers for travel with effect from 19 June, it said.
The codeshare agreement will enable Air France to place its marketing code (AF) on Jet Airways’ domestic flights to three major Indian cities beyond Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, a joint statement issued by the airlines said.
Passengers travelling from Europe to India on Air France flights will now be able to connect seamlessly with one ticket to Chennai via Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, and to Kolkata, Hyderabad via Mumbai and Bengaluru, the statement said.
Likewise, KLM will place its marketing code (KL) on Jet Airways’ domestic flights to four major cities in India beyond Delhi, allowing passengers travelling from Europe to India to connect seamlessly to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai via Delhi.
Speaking about the agreement, Mr Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer, Jet Airways, said: "We are delighted with this enhancement in our relationship with both Air France and KLM, as we share a long standing interline and frequent flyer partnership with these carriers."
