IndiGo’s co-founder raises USD 820 million in block sale deal
Coming as a positive development for India’s biggest airlines IndiGo, one of its co-founder raised about USD 820 million from selling part of its holding.
Budget passenger carrier IndiGo on Thursday announced Colombo as its eighth international and 49th overall destination.
According to the airline, the new schedule will see non-stop connections between Colombo to Chennai and Bengaluru, effective January 20, 2018.
Speaking at the launch, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said: “As one of the most sought after destinations in South Asia, Colombo draws visitors from across the globe for its fine blend of tradition and culture.”

The company added that these new flights will further consolidate its position as the fastest growing airline in India with 149 Airbus A320 and three ATR aircraft in its fleet, operating over 1,000 daily flights, connecting 49 destinations effective January 20, 2018.
