Berger Paints today reported an 11 per cent increase in net profit on a consolidated basis for the quarter ended 30 June 2013. The company’s net profit during the quarter rose to Rs 49 crore compared with Rs 44 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company’s revenue also went up by 13 per cent during the quarter under review to Rs 904 crore from Rs 803 crore achieved during the first quarter of fiscal 2012-13. On a standalone basis, net profit jumped to Rs 55 crore from Rs 48 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal, registering a growth of 16 per cent.
The company’s standalone sales income also reported a nine per cent growth at Rs 816 crore compared with Rs 749 crore in the comparable period.
"Retail business posted a double-digit growth while industrial business faced sluggish demand," the company said in a statement.
