Girls in Haryana outshine boys in Class XII result

Girls in Haryana outshined boys 2017 in Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) Class XII result declared on Thursday with 73.44 per cent girls achieving success as compared to 57.58 per cent boys.

The result of the Senior Secondary (Academic) examination conducted by the HBSE, Bhiwani in March, 2017 remains 64.50 per cent against 36.73 per cent during the corresponding year.

A spokesman of the Board said that in 2016 the result of regular examinations was 62.40 per cent and of correspondence were 54.22.

He informed that 2,10,867 students were appeared in the academic examination, out of which 1,36,008 passed. As many as 42,245 students have received compartment and 30,966 failed. In correspondence examination, 1,18,866 students were appeared out of which 68,446 passed and 67,562 girls passed out of 92,001 appeared.

He said that pass percentage of government schools remained 65.57, government aided schools 66.38 per cent and the pass percentage of private schools is 63.16 per cent. In this examination, the pass percentage of students of rural areas has been 66.92 per cent, whereas the urban area students have a pass percentage of 60.26. He said that the result of the correspondence of senior secondary examination remained 36.73 per cent. 13,871 have passed out of the 37,767 examinees appeared in this examination.

The spokesperson further stated that for the first time, Aadhaar numbers are being mentioned on the certificates. There are about 5,000 such examinees whose Aadhaar card numbers are desired and have not updated. Their examination results have been declared on the Board's website, keeping in view the interest of the students, but the certificates will not be issued without the Aadhaar number. Thus they should update the Aadhaar number immediately as soon as possible and school or candidate will be responsible for any delay. He informed that such schools and correspondence students are also being informed on the telephone for updating Aadhaar number by the concerned branch.
