The Board exams are just a week away and students find themselves under stress a lot during this time. To help the students when it comes to the exams fear and stress, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had begun a counselling service last month. The education Board aimed at addressing students’ exam related anxiety which peaks now around the board exam.
According to media reports, most the calls that CBSE receive on its toll-free number are related to break-ups or even ill treatment by parents.
A report in the Hindustan Times, students sought advice on matters related to heart.

“I had a break-up recently and I don’t feel like studying at all. I can’t think about anything but her,” a student told the toll-free number, reported Hindustan Times.
In the month of January this year, the CBSE had said that it would be providing psychological counselling to students.
The tele-counselling service will continue till April 13 and will be provided by a total of “91 principals, trained counsellors, psychologists, and special educators”, the CBSE had said in a statement.
Out of these, 71 will be available in India while 20 will be in Nepal, Saudi Arabia (Al-Khobar), Oman, the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah), Kuwait, Singapore, Qatar and Japan,” the board said in a statement.
To get counselling, students call 1800 11 8004 number from anywhere in India between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. till April 13.
The board has also roped in four “special educators” to cater to differently abled students. This is the ninth year that CBSE has taken this measure.
Students can seek counselling online also by mailing at counselling.cecbse@gmail.com and by checking the CBSE website.
