The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday postponed the Class X and Class XII board examinations scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, in several Middle East countries due to the prevailing situation in the region.

In a circular dated March 1, addressed to principals of CBSE-affiliated schools in Iran, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the board said the exams for both classes stand deferred. Revised dates will be notified later.

The board said it will assess the situation again on Tuesday, March 3, and take a call on examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards.

Students have been advised to remain in touch with their schools for further updates and to rely only on official communication.

The move affects CBSE-affiliated institutions across the Gulf region and neighbouring countries, where thousands of Indian students are currently appearing for their board examinations.

Copies of the circular have also been marked to Indian diplomatic missions in the affected countries, including ambassadors and the Consul General in Dubai.
