CBSE CTET 2018 on September 16, applications open at ctet.nic.in

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started accepting applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2018 or CTET 2018. The registration is open until 27 August.

The board has announced 30 August as the last date for fee payment.

The payment of fees has to be done by 3.30 pm of 30 August. The eligibility test is to be conducted in 20 languages in 92 cities across the country.

CTET 2018 DAY & TIME

The examination will be held on 16 September, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. While the test for paper-I will be last from 9.30 am to 12 noon, the paper-II examination would be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm, each paper lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Eligible candidates can follow the instructions on www.ctet.nic.in and apply.

How to apply for CTET 2018?

Step 1: Visit the official website – ctet.nic.in

Step 2: Click on ‘Online Registration for CTET 2018’

Step 3: Register yourself

Step 4: Fill the application form and other details as asked

Step 5: Download the confirmation page and take a printout

This will be the 11th edition of the CTET.

The details of eligibility criteria, examination dates, fees and other information are available on the portal.

The board will accept the application only through online mode. Aspirants passing the examination would be eligible to teach in schools from class I to class VIII.

The minimum pass percentage for the examination is 60, while those belonging to the reserved categories would be given a 5% relaxation.

It may be recalled that earlier the examination was scheduled to be held in June but had been postponed to 16 September. Also, there were reports surfacing about the removal of Tamil and 16 other languages from this year.

However, reacting to the criticism from various corners, Union human resource development minister Prakash Javdekar confirmed in a tweet that the test would be held in 20 Indian languages as before.
