Geetali Gupta's emotional reaction goes viral

CLAT, or the Common Law Admission Test 2026 topper Geetali Gupta’s emotional reaction went viral after results were officially declared on the Consortium of National Law Universities’ (NLU) website on December 16, 2025. One of India’s most competitive entrance examinations, CLAT determines admission to National Law Universities across the country.

She has secured an All India Rank 1 in CLAT 2026 with 112.75 marks scored out of 119 at just the mere age of 17. The CLAT exam is a national-level entrance exam for students who wish to pursue law and get admission in one of the NLUs. It is conducted for both undergraduate (UG) as well as postgraduate (PG) programmes. There are a total of 25 NLUs across India with many more affiliated colleges that offer various courses.

The video that went viral captures the very essence of a student’s emotion when she realizes that not only has she cracked the exam but also topped it. Years of hard work, sweat and determination finally came to fruition, spilling over in a raw and unfiltered moment of disbelief, relief and overwhelming joy.

In the video, Geetali is seen sitting in front of the mandir at her home, refreshing the website to check her result. As soon as the page loads, she breaks down – crying, covering her face, shaking with a mix of shock and relief. Her mother hugs her quietly amidst her breakdown while the person shooting the video rejoices loudly, proudly showing off her marks. The flood of emotions she goes through is something each and every viewer resonates with – raw, vulnerable and profoundly human. It’s not merely the fact that she came first but the humanity behind it all – what makes us humane.
