Trinamul Congress today came down heavily on Suvendu Aadhikari, the Leader of Opposition, for felicitating the persons who had assaulted two vendors who were selling chicken patty at Maidan during the chanting of slokas from the Gita on Sunday.
Trinamul leadership said Bengal will defeat them so decisively that no future demagogue will ever dare touch Bengal’s culture or dignity again.
Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of Trinamul Congress has said over and again that the BJP will get less than 50 seats in 2026 Assembly polls because of its hate police and alleged hooliganism.
Trinamul Congress in the official X handle wrote: “What happened is a brazen declaration that @BJP4India has abandoned democracy and adopted hooliganism as its operating system. By felicitating the very men arrested for assaulting two chicken patty vendors, @SuvenduWB didn’t just cross a line, he ripped the mask off the BJP and exposed the machinery beneath: terror, moral policing and state sponsored street criminals.”
The leaders said the BJP’s religion begins with hate and thrives on intimidation and finally ends in violence. Beating up poor vendors is their “culture”. The saffron party wants to decide what food people would take and what culture they would follow. “If you dare to refuse the foot soldiers attack while he claps like a ringmaster in a circus of hatred.”
It may be mentioned that Trinamul Congress had strongly protested when Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, who wrote the national song, Vande Mataram, “dada”. The PM said this while taking part on a discussion on Vande Mataram, which is celebrating its 150th year. The party called the gesture of Modi as BJP’s systematic attack on the Bengalis and hatred for them.
