Ruling party leaders and workers allegedly attacked workers of the BJP at Mandra Anchal in Dhanekhali on Friday night. Subir Nag the district BJP leader today visited the houses of the affected BJP workers. Nag said that on Friday evening the ruling party was celebrating Vijay Samelam at Mandra Anchal in Dhanekhali.

Without any provocation from the BJP side, the Trinamul workers attacked the houses of BJP workers and damaged them and then brutally thrashed the BJP workers and their families. Even the females, the aged and the children were not spared, he said, adding that six BJP workers suffered serious injuries, and were rushed to the hospital. Some of the victims’ legs and hands were also fractured in the brutal attack by the ruling party workers.

Nag said, “The ruling party in a pre-planned manner is trying to create panic and unrest at Dhanekhali. They are trying to terrorise BJP local leaders and workes so that the panicked BJP workers may quit BJP and switch over to the ruling party. The police administration remains a mute spectator. There is a breakdown of law and order not only in Dhanekhali but the entire Arambagh sub-division. Today we have set up a road block on the Arambagh- Kolkata state highway demanding the arrest of the culprits.”

Nag also cautioned the the Trinamul Congress leaders and workers, saying, “The ruling party workers will be paid in their own coin if they don’t desist from attacking BJP workers and spreading unrest and panic in Dhanekhali. We will teach the attackers a lesson in their own language.” The local ruling party leaders, however denied all the allegation made against them by the BJP. The police, meanwhile, pacified theBJP agitators and removed the road block on the state highway.
