Railway and state urban development department is finding a new way for constructing the Garden Reach flyover near the railway project site in Garden Reach port areas.
The Garden Reach flyover is to be set up near the railway project site where Garden Reach railway station and a new rail line from Sagar to Kolkata Port are going to be set up.
Officials from railway and urban development department are working out a realignment of the railway line, urban development minister Mr Firhad Hakim said today.
The railway and KoPT permission are required for setting up the Garden Reach flyover, which will be funded by Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM).
A team comprising the senior officials of Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT), Rail India Technical and Economic Service (Rites),
railway officials, urban development department will visit the site of the Garden Reach flyover on Monday to find out the alternative way for realignment, he said.
An existing railway line of the circular railway is located there, which has to be realigned.
The Garden Reach flyover will be four kilometre long and estimated project cost is Rs 380 cr.
The flyover will be set
up from Ramnagar petrol pump to Kantapukur Morgue with double lane carriageway.
