Sebaashray 2 camps started in Bishnupur today and will continue till 30 December.
The camps will remain closed on 24 and 25 December. The camps are held for seven days in every Assembly area that falls under Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat.
The camps have already been held in Maheshtala, Metiabruz and Budge Budge. It started on 1 December and will run till 28 January, 2026. The camps will be held in three remaining areas, namely Satgachia, Falta and Diamond Harbour.
Abhishek Banerjee, MP from Diamond Harbour and party’s national general secretary had visited the model camp in Budge Budge. There was an overwhelming response from the people of Budge Budge when Mr Banerjee visited the camps.
More than 1.37 lakh people have visited the camps since its inception on 1 December. Thirty nine people have undergone cataract surgery so far. In Sebaashray 1 initiative, which ended in early 2025, more than 12 lakh people had visited the camps.
Fifteen camps have been opened in Bishnupur. People have to register their names and will be guided by the Trinamul Congress workers to consult the doctor they intend to see. Medicines and diagnostic tests are conducted free of cost. Follow up camps will be held from 24 to 28 January.

Diagnosis, consultation, medicines, and referrals came together seamlessly, ensuring that no one was left to navigate the system alone. This is what governance looks like when it listens first and responds fully.
“698 diagnostic tests enabled early identification of health concerns and timely medical decisions. 672 people received essential medicines, free of cost, ensuring treatment was not interrupted by affordability; 1457 individuals visited the camp, each guided with clarity, reassurance, and care; 1 patient was referred for advanced treatment, with continuity and follow-up ensured
