KOLKATA, 1 JUNE: Journalists of different associations today came together to look into the plight of their colleagues who have lost their jobs after the closing down of media houses, both print and electronic, run allegedly by chit-fund companies.
Though the scribes stopped short of directly criticising the Saradha group whose shut down has rendered hundreds of journalists jobless, they advocated the setting up of a fund to arrange for financial help to the victims.
The journalists are slated to meet the Governor M K Narayanan next week to submit a deputation seeking his intervention in the matter.
