Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had moved out of her sit-in protest site in Esplanade in the evening to meet the outgoing Governor of West Bengal CV Ananda Bose.

She had ‘temporarity’ moved out after Abhishek Banerjee, the TMC national general secretary requested her to look after her health and give up the protest.

Mamata headed to a Alipore address to meet the Governor. She later post in her X handle: “After concluding our five-day dharna at Dharmatala, I took a moment to personally meet CV Ananda Bose, the Hon’ble Ex Governor of West Bengal, ahead of his departure tomorrow.

“Dr. Bose is an erudite and distinguished individual, and during his tenure I had the opportunity to engage with him on matters concerning the welfare and progress of our state and its people. I have always valued these interactions.

“I extend my warmest wishes to Dr. Bose for all his future endeavours. I am confident that with his wisdom and experience, he will continue to honour any responsibility he undertakes in the days to come.”

The Governor had resigned from his post last week in Delhi and said that he is headed to his home state of Kerala.
