Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday identified three flagship projects ~ Banglar Bari, Pathasree, and Amader Para Amader Samadhan ~ that her government is likely to prioritise in the run-up to the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
Ms Banerjee, who chaired a meeting of District Magistrates (DMs) at the state secretariat Nabanna, today, asked the officials to place utmost importance on the effective implementation of these projects, sources said.
According to sources, the Chief Minister, who was at the meeting for around 25 minutes, chose these projects as they are closely linked to people’s everyday concerns and have a wide outreach, enabling the government to address public grievances at the grassroots level.
As part of this effort, Ms Banerjee reportedly instructed officials and district magistrates to identify shortcomings in the projects and plug the gaps on a war footing.
Sources said the Chief Minister also pointed out deficiencies in the Amader Para Amader Samadhan project, particularly relating to the uneven distribution of potable water, and directed the concerned officials to address the lacunae without delay. She also asked officials to expedite the completion of pending works under the Pathasree project.
