Mamata to campaign in north Bengal, Meghalaya
Trinamul Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee and party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will campaign for the party’s nominees in north Bengal and Meghalaya.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday mourned the death of Jayendra Saraswathi, the 69th pontiff of the Sankara Mutt in Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
In a tweet, Mamata said, “Saddened at the Mahasamadhi of Kanchi Acharya Pujya Jayendra Saraswati ji”.

Saraswathi passed away at a private hospital in Kanchipuram on Wednesday. He was 82. He was ailing for some time and was admitted to the hospital early on Wednesday.
Earlier, On Wednesday, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday expressed sadness at the demise of Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi.
