Kargil Vijay Divas celebrations in West Bengal

It was learnt that community interaction programmes were held to enhance role of the local fishermen towards coastal security as ‘eyes and ears’ and garner closer cooperation between Navy and fishermen folk.

The Naval Officer-in-Charge, West Bengal, had organised a special community interaction programme (CIP) along with representatives of state fisheries department, Army (EC), IAF (Adv HQ) and NCC unit in a coastal village at Diamond Harbour, recently, as part of Kargil Vijay Divas celebrations.

The spokesperson, INS Netaji Subhas, Kolkata today informed that a motivational telefilm was screened and lectures conducted on the Kargil operations and participation of Indian Navy in “Operation Vijay” for the fishermen community.
