Kurseong, 19 September: With administrative/ police reshuffling continuing in the restive Darjeeling Hills, Mr K Kannan, an IPS officer, took over as the new ASP for Kalimpong sub-division yesterday. This was followed by a new SDO and a new BDO having recently assumed charge in Kalimpong.
It is learnt that Mr Kannan served as the ACP in Bidhannagar before his transfer to Kalimpong.
Meanwhile, Mr Songmit Lepcha who was the Kalimpong ASP has been posted as the Commanding Officer of the 10th battalion of the state armed police force in Siliguri. sns
